About Triadigm

A connected body of independent research—without a super-framework.

Triadigm is the public home of frameworks concerned with sociotechnical evolution, order, architecture, purpose, and transfer. The frameworks share an intellectual lineage and frequently inform one another, but each retains its own object, distinctions, and burden of proof.

Research orientation

Why “orientation” rather than “system”?

A unified system would imply one privileged object and one architecture capable of absorbing all the others. Triadigm makes a more restrained claim. It provides orientation across several questions whose answers must remain distinct.

Triadic Evolution asks what changes. Ecosystems Thinking asks how responsibility-bearing actors are related. Unit Oriented Architecture asks how complete units compose. Purpose Driven Design asks how a unit becomes internally coherent. Metaphoric Modeling asks how useful logic can be discovered and responsibly transferred.

Sociotechnical reality

Human action cannot be understood by separating social organization from physical and digital capability.

Responsibility before abstraction

Architectural claims should remain reconstructable through identifiable agents and sociotechnical units.

Distinction before synthesis

Related mechanisms, realms, orders, and models should not be collapsed merely because they interact.

Comprehensibility

Architecture should make complex formations more legible to the people who must act within and answer for them.

Provisionality

Frameworks, missions, and transferred models remain open to correction, narrowing, replacement, and retirement.

Practical consequence

Conceptual distinctions should improve diagnosis, design, governance, learning, or intervention—not merely vocabulary.

Andre Milchman is an independent researcher and enterprise and software architect based in Toronto, Canada. His work focuses on enterprise architecture, sociotechnical architecture, artificial intelligence, and the organization of complex institutions, technologies, and knowledge.

He is the author of Unit Oriented Enterprise Architecture and The Purpose Driven Design Framework for Modern Enterprises, both published by Apress, as well as independently published works on sociotechnical evolution, ecosystems thinking, metaphoric modeling, AI safety, capability and dependence, and the organization of science.

Across these works, Milchman develops conceptual frameworks for making complex technical, institutional, and social formations more intelligible as they grow, interact, adapt, and transform.
